My Philosophy:
As an engineer, I believe I am in a unique position to provide a canvas for the artist's work. I also have the ability to interact with the artist to create a truly dynamic, original piece of art. As a producer this interaction is even more prevalent and can become collaboration. My main priority as a producer or engineer is to achieve the goals set by the artist and to present the artist with new goals to enable their work to grow and develop. If the artist can reach a new level and do something they weren't able to do in the past then I have succeeded at my job. If they can sound great while doing it then I have succeeded at my job. If both of these things happen and the artist is left with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, then I have exceeded the normal artist/engineer relationship. I strive to do this with each and every artist, in every genre and style, in every situation.
